Waveform Festival Wins Greener Festival Award at
UK Festival Awards
We were very proud to accept the prestigious “Greener Festival Award” at the 2008 UK Festival Awards.
The Award is based on a seven part questionnaire which covers event management, travel and transport plans, CO2 emissions, fair trade, waste management and recycling, water management and noise pollution. Points are awarded for festivals which can show an active plan to promote public transport, reduce on-site waste, recycle and compost wherever possible, re-use water and use sustainable power. Festivals are expected to have a coherent environmental policy and we have environmental auditors who visit as many festival sites as possible to assess how festivals implement their plans.

We are proud to be a part of the international Earthdance celebration. Earthdance is the world’s largest synchonised dance and music event for world peace. Happening in over 300 locations and in more than 60 countries. It has been described by the Dalai Lama “the most successful event of its kind in support of Tibet.” The Earthdance mission is to promote peace by joining participants worldwide in a synchronized Prayer for Peace at Midnight on Saturday September 13th and to support humanitarian causes through the global language of music and dance. THE WAVEFORM 2008 SIX STAGES
The Main Stage and Gaia Chill areas returned, joined by a vastly expanded Trance Arena hosting some of the finest international DJ’s and live acts around amongst incredible sound and decor. The Green Village expanded into a whole area, powered exclusively by wind and sun and featuring our live music café and ambient spaces. Also the Archangel^ Breaks & Dub stage with electro, dubstep, minimal and dub to keep all tastes in quality dance music happy.
